Table Lamp Zeiss Ikon, Model J 120

category: lighting > desk

Description:

The table lamp was designed and manufactured by Zeiss in the 1930s. This is a Classic example of the Minimalist Bauhaus style.

Construction:

A massive, flat base made of cast iron is closed in a steel frame where the switch is installed. A movable arm working in the base bed has a wooden lever limiting the range of motion. The lampshade is in a form of a cone and has a glass mirror reflector with a Cascade construction, characteristic for the Zeiss Company. Thanks to this design, the reflector increases the intensity and light emission. The lampshade has a two-way regulation: up-down, left-right.
The lamp has been fully restored. All elements have been thoroughly cleaned, with the original varnish and patina of time retained. The electrical installation was rebuilt from the scratch, based on certified materials. Brass bulb holder with a ceramic collar. A retro switch and a plug. Electric wire in black cotton braid. Steel elements covered with a protective wax.
