Primary use:

The lamp was designed to illuminate factory and workshop spaces, where there was dustiness and a chance of a mechanical damage.

Construction:

Two steel chambers connected by a hinge. The upper chamber originally had a mercury lamp ballast, the bottom chamber – the so-called lamp – was equipped with a directional reflector made of electropolished aluminum and closed from the bottom with a prismatic glass cover protected by a steel protective mesh. The surface of the lamp was originally covered with aluminum stove varnish. The lamp can be mounted on a hook or a threaded pipe.
