Large Pani Film Spotlight on a Steel Tripod

category: lighting > stage

Description:

An original film spotlight from the 1970s of the Austrian company Pani.

Construction:

The spotlight’s body is made of steel sheet covered with a characteristic varnish coat, the so-called “hammer” paint. In the back and in the bottom, there are two powerful aluminium radiators designed to dissipate the heat and cool the reflector. Inside the optical lens, there is a system of movable shutters, structurally similar to the solutions used in photographic cameras. The diaphragms are controlled by special levers located outside the reflector ring. The front part of the optical system extends away from the body, which makes it possible to set the focus of light. The steel handle, on which the lamp is installed, is equipped with a two-sided adjustment of the inclination angle. Primary power supply – a 2000 Watt bulb, currently adapted to the light source with the standard E 27 thread.
The set includes a massive cast iron-steel adjustable tripod made in Russia. According to the information on the rating plate, it comes from Moscow. Year of production: 1953. It was used for film lighting.
